Welcome to the gratuitous screenshots section! Here you can see one usage scenario of Quintuple Agent.
First, you can see me creating a detached .sig for the Quintuple Agent tarball (well, it was called "Secret Agent" back when). Since the key hasn't been used recently, the passphrase is not in q-agent's posession. So it tries to query me for it in a pop-up window:
After having given the whole passphrase (yes, it's longer than three characters!), signing went fine, as you can see in the next shot. I also issued a command to sign the Debian package as well. Because I checked "ask before giving out secret" before (see last shot), this won't proceed before I give permission:
Since I clicked yes, q-agent gave out the passphrase and all went smoothly:
For the next ten minutes (remember that I chose "600 seconds" in screenshot #1) using agpg with this key will need no further passphrase entry.
